Rick Bayless's Mexican kitchen at Disney Springs Town Center

Frontera Cocina is chef Rick Bayless's take on Mexican cooking, and it's a step above the usual Tex-Mex you find near the theme parks. Bayless built his reputation in Chicago with Frontera Grill and Topolobampo, and the Disney Springs location brings the same approach: regional Mexican ingredients, house-made salsas, and a serious tequila and mezcal program.

The guacamole is made tableside and worth ordering. The tacos are well-constructed, the enchiladas are properly sauced, and the slow-roasted carnitas are a reliable main. The margaritas are made with fresh lime juice and good tequila, which puts them ahead of most in the area.

It's a table-service restaurant with a casual feel. The outdoor terrace overlooks the Town Center promenade and is a good spot for lunch or an early dinner.
