Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' sits at The Landing in Disney Springs, about 15 minutes from most of our Davenport and Kissimmee villas. Art Smith cooked for Oprah Winfrey for years before opening this place, and the food shows it: real Southern technique, not a theme-park approximation of it.

The fried chicken is the thing to order. It comes with a honey drizzle and a side of house-made hot sauce, and it's the kind of dish that makes the table go quiet. The Church Lady Deviled Eggs are a good start, and the Shine Cake (moonshine-spiked caramel cake) is worth saving room for.

It's a table-service restaurant, so reservations are a good idea, especially on weekends. The dining room is warm and unpretentious, with a porch that catches the evening breeze off the water.
